50CC Iron Butt Association Ride San Diego Details

Departing San Diego

• All riders will be witnessed and released from the host hotel.

• Once your witness form is signed, notify the on-site coordinator and he will release you from the staging area. Do not leave the staging area without getting witnessed and checking in with the on-site coordinator.

• Get a begin receipt from Johnny's Shell on Voltaire. The time on this receipt is your begin time. See below for directions/map.

• Note 100CCC EWE Riders. You must get a gas receipt at the start of the second leg at the same station in which you got your ending receipt for the first leg . This serves as your ending and starting time stamps. Note: this is not an IBA requirement but a requirement for our ride.

• If you're collecting sand/water, you will find easy access to the beach from Johnny's Shell on Voltaire. See below for directions/map.

• You're off to Jacksonville. Ride safely, don't push your limits and enjoy the ride

• Obtain an ending receipt. The preferred gas station is:

Ocean Front Access

Ocean Beach

There are 68 public parking spaces (including two disabled spaces) at the foot of Santa Monica Avenue adjacent to the main lifeguard station. There are 110 public parking spaces (including three disabled spaces) at the foot of Newport Avenue, adjacent to the Ocean Beach Pier. There are 298 public parking spaces (including three disabled spaces) in the public lot at the foot of Voltaire Street. This lot is adjacent to the north end of the beach and Dog Beach. Note: Dog Beach is the closest, but you might get more than sand and water. Dog Beach is a hangout, if it looks a bit spooky, you are probably at the wrong beach.
