A Note from the MTF Board      -       By Kevin Lechner (leck63)

Wow, it's hard to believe another year is almost past, and what a great year it's been! All the MTF events this year have been a huge success due to all the volunteers working hard to put the details together and all the members who participated. If you didn't make it to any of the events this year, you missed out on some great riding and tire kicking. The MTF event committees have planned another incredible year for 2007 and are in the process of finalizing all the details. Start making plans to attend, the list of events and dates are on the MTF website.

I can't believe it's been over 4 years since I first visted the MTF, time sure flies when you're having fun. I stumbled on the MTF in September 2002 as I was planning a 50CC and found the MTF was organizing a 50CC/100CCC ride for March 2003. When I asked a couple of questions, the welcome I received from the group was unbelievable. I was so impressed with the friendliness of everyone and the organization of the ride, I rode the 50CC with the MTF in 2003 and have been hooked ever since.

I've always been amazed by all the work taking place behind the scene that makes the MTF tick. A lot of volunteers freely share their valuable time, skills and knowledge to make it all come together and they don't expect anything in return. But the MTF wouldn't be what it is without all the members who participate on the forum and in the events. Thanks to everyone for making the MTF such a great place! I would like to express a special THANK YOU to Bob Fisher (Bobmeinet), Dennis Wynne (DLWynne), Don Kime (SAFTNUT), Joyce Johnson (babebr), and Braulio Montesino (braulio3). They have all given their time and expertise to help fill critical roles that fall under my area of responsibilities as part of the BOD. Bob creates and maintains part of the website, including the online MTF Calendar. Dennis maintains our web server and donates the internet connection. Don is our Safety Liason who enlightens us on safety issues. Joyce took on the MTF Virtual Library and has kept it straight for the last year. Braulio developed the idea and volunteered to write the new feature article in the newsletter "Getting to Know You". Without them, these things would never get done. There are several other volunteers who do many things for the MTF, you can see who they are on the MTF Org chart.

The MTF is so much more than a group of friends; it's an extended family that I'm honored and proud to be a member of. I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season, and hope to see you some where on the road next year!

- Kevin Lechner
