Fuel and Receipt

Gas up and get a receipt at: Shell #112 - 1539 South 3rd Street, Jacksonville Beach, FL

• They have receipts with valid time stamps and are open 24/7.

• You can then go just two blocks east on 16th Avenue South to collect your sand and water at the beach access.

Leaving Jacksonville

• You should have the witness form completed and ready to obtain receipt 15 minutes before the official start time. 
• Follow the directions of AL2000 (Alan Leduc), Ride Coordinator.
• Your witness form will be signed at the Shell Station.
• Get your sand and water.
• Your off to San Diego. From the beach access, you will then return to 3rd Street North and make a left (south). You will travel south along 3rd Street North for about 2.4 miles (just past 37th Avenue - about 21 blocks) to J. Turner Butler Boulevard (Rt. 202). This will take you to I95 North and then on to I10 East. The 21 blocks or so down 3rd Street North (AIA) has several stop lights and could be busy at certain times of the day but should not be a problem on Saturday morning. J.T. Butler Boulevard (Rt. 202) not only is limited access, but it is rural, low traffic, high speed limit with traffic running at or above the posted speed limit.

Arriving Jacksonville

• Congratulations on a great ride
• Exit Route 202 and head to the Beach Access to gather your sand and water.
• Get your receipt at the Shell Station at 1539 South 3rd Street.
• You can stop the panic. Your official time has been recorded on your receipt.
• A witness will be available at the Shell Station from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18 for those that are starting the 50CC from Jax and for those that need a midpoint witness for the 100CCC from SD to Jax to SD.
• If you are doing the 100CC from Jax to SD to Jax,  go promptly the Jacksonville Fire Department to get your witness form signed. You should be arriving during normal business hours so you should have no problem. If you have a problem with the Fire Department, go to the Police Station (see below).
  • City of Jacksonville Beach Fire Department - 325 2nd Avenue South, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250

    • Located just down the street from the beach access on A1A.

    • Their hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.

    • The shift change is at 8:00 A.M.

    • They said that during normal hours they could provide a witness, but not outside of normal hours.

• If are doing the 50CC ending in Jax and want your witness to signature before 5:00 a.m., go to the Police Department to get you witness form signed.
  • Jacksonville Beach Police Department - 101 South Penman Road, Jacksonville Beach, Florida, 32250

    • Dispatcher on duty 24 hours a day.

    • They are willing to serve as a witness.

    • My suggestion is that you call the station in advance to make arrangements. Ride to the station and get your witness form signed and then return to the Shell station that is on the Northeast corner of 3rd Street North and 16th Avenue South to get your receipt.
