Odometer Check

Since this is a combination Endurance Ride / Flower Sniffn Ride and we are trying to be flexible on start times. Scheduling the OD Check is going to be a bit tricky. Our assumption is that you will get in the night before you plan your 1000 mile ride. Therefore we will are scheduling OD Checks for 7:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. We will be out riding daily. It is possible that we could get hung up and not make the scheduled time. Don't panic. If for some reason you can't make one of these checks, then report to the we will have a make up OD Check at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Alan Leduc, Jason Jonas, Don Kime, and Lou Canick are authorized to perform the OD Check. If you need to track us down we are staying at the Old Post Park Campground in spaces B15 and B20.

Pre and Post Ride Check-in

Mandatory Stops

There will be a check-in sheet in the lobby of the Best Western. You must sign in and record your OD Reading prior to leaving on your ride and you must sign out and record your OD reading after your ride.
There are several service stations within a few hundred yards of the Best Western. You are to use one of these stations as your start and stop location. Please use the same station at both start and stop so the times will be consistent. Your gas receipt will server as your official start and stop time.
You must collect receipts or answer the question for each of the listed mandatory stops. You do not have to maintain a stop log.
If you are not doing your complete ride at the PRFH or you anticipate doing say a 1200 mile one day and 800 the next, you must keep the standard IBA documentation as the certificates will not have start and end times.

SS5000 Momentos and Certificates

You will be supplied certificates for each 1000 mile ride, the during the banquet. You will send a copy of this to the IBA for your certification in lieu of the standard documentation. There will be a sample SS5000 momemto available. For those completing the SS5000, your momento will be mailed to you shortly after the event.

Notes:

Our stipulation with the Iron Butt Association which allows us to validate your rides requires thatr:
- You perform the odometer check ride before the first ride.
- You ride Monday's Ride on Monday, Tuesday's Ride on Tuesday, etc.
- You make all mandatory fuel stops.
We will give you a certificate of completion for each 1000 mile ride. You will submit this to the Iron Butt Association in lieu of gas receipts and witness forms. We will also list your accomplishment on our web site. The registration fee for the MTF Poker Run from Hell does not include the certification fee to the Iron Butt Association. If you want the ride certified, you must send a copy of your certificate of completion and the appropriate fees to the Iron Butt Association.
You may do your own Iron Butt Association ride to or from the MTF PRFH and add it to the MTF PRFH rides; however, you will be required to do the normal documentation (witness forms and gas receipts). You may then submit this with the MTF PRFH Certificate of Completion. For example, you could do a SS2000 on Saturday and Sunday on the way to the MTF PRFH, do the MTF PRFH 1000 miles for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and submit your documentation for the Saturday and Sunday rides along with the MTF PRFH Certificates of Completion to obtain a SS5000.
These route sheets have an 8:00 a.m. Start Time. However, riders may leave anytime between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. We will have a sign-up sheet for each ride available the day before, where you can indicate your desired start time and then we will make arrangements to have witnesses available for you.
Riders completing all 1000 mile rides during the 5 days of the event will receive a special momento documenting their ride and will be eligible for a $100.00 bonus which will be given to the person in this group with the highest poker hand. The highest poker hand of the riders completing three consecutive 1000 mile rides will receive a $50.00 bonus. The bonuses are in addition to the PRFH Pot. Riders must complete all 1000 mile legs at the event to be eligible.
The SS3000 and the SS5000 are considered to be extreme rides. Before attempting these rides, you MUST meet the prerequisites set forth on the Iron Butt Association web site.
Although the Iron Butt Association rules for a SS2000, SS3000, and SS5000 only require that the rider do the miles in 2, 3, and 5 days respectively, the MTF will only certify completion of the 1000 mile rides within the 24 hours beginning with the start time on the stated day of the ride. If this is of concern to you, you should maintain a ride log and receipts as a backup in the event that you go past the 24 hour limit on a given ride.
