Safety

In addition to requiring the use of a DOT approved helmet on all MTF rides, the MTF Flower Sniffin' Committee strongly encourages the use of Motorcycle specific protective clothing and footwear while participating in any Flower Sniffin' event. ATGATT reduces the severity of injuries in an accident and we want every participant in our events to be as safe as possible.

Also the MTF Flower Sniffin' Committee strongly encourages each participant in our events to self assess their riding style, interests, need for breaks and riding skill level and to keep that assessment in mind when choosing a riding partner or small group (2-4 riders) to ride with at our events. Sharing the road with someone of similar interests and riding style not only makes the ride more enjoyable for you, but safer for everyone.

Route Name

Description

Forksville, PA
You've all seen the posts about the RTEs we have each year in Forksville PA. Now is your chance to go there!

Comfort Inn to Forksville will take you from the hotel to Forksville on a 139 mile run that starts with a short highway trek to get to some cool mountain backroads.
Forksville, PA 125, Comfort Inn-Denver takes you back to the hotel on a 126 mile route thru a stretch of popular switchbacks on PA-125.

Both routes go through Bloomsburg PA and would be an ideal way to Bill's Bike Barn (noted above in POIs).
PA-125 Loop
PA 125 Loop is a 190 mile route going the other direction on PA-125, cruising down the Susquehanna to Dennie's/Lennie's, a favorite diner. The return trip features more switchbacks on Gold Mine Rd.
Covered Bridge Tour
Covered Bridges1 is a 107 mile route featuring 9 covered bridges, some beautiful farms and a twisty stroll to Maple Grove Raceway.
Short n Sweet
Short n Sweet w Shady Maple Smorgasbord is a 116 mile route to a favorite road, PA-568. Twisty and scenic in spots, a nice stroll through French Creek State Park before arriving at the largest Smorgasbord ever, Shady Maple. Arrive hungry! End with a stroll through Middle Creek Wildlife Preserve. Add, yes, we Pennsylvanian's pronounce it "crik"!
Valley Forge
(Revolutionary War) National Park
Comfort Inn-Denver to Valley Forge Visitors Center is a 53 mile route to the site of the 1777-78 winter encampment of the Continental Army. The 3,500-acres of monuments, meadows, and woodlands commemorate the sacrifices and perseverance of the Revolutionary War generation. The park honors and celebrates the ability of citizens to pull together and overcome adversity during extraordinary times.

Just reverse the waypoints to return to the hotel or take the more direct I-76 West to exit 286.
Longwood Gardens Comfort Inn-Denver to Longwood Gardens is a 43 mile route to the world-famous Longwood Gardens. Formerly the  home of Pierre DuPont, this 1000+ acre garden is something to experience.
Gettysburg
(Civil War) Battlefield

York Harley-Davidson Assembly Plant

The Turkey Hill Experience
Comfort Inn-Denver to Gettysburg Visitors Center is a 75 mile route to the Gettysburg Battlefield, a journey not to be missed! The best way to experience this is with a licensed Battlefield Tour Guide. You can/will find yourself spending a full day here. Don't miss the Cyclorama in the fairly recently refurbished Visitors Center. For an even better tour, go to Gettysburg Segway Tours and take the tour with both a licensed Battlefield Tour Guide as well as a Segway instructor on a Segway. For more info talk to Bill Campbell about the Segway Tour.

This route also take you past the York Harley-Davidson Assembly Plant and the Turkey Hill Experience. One could easily do the H-D and Turkey Hill Experience in one day. The Turkey Hill Experience does require a reservation.
