How to Submit Your Pictures

Send your images to photos@mctourer.com.

File Format: We will post the pictures in JPEG (.jpg) format. So if you can send them to us in JPEG format, that's best. Most digital cameras save their files as JPEGs anyway. If you have some other format, don't worry we can convert them.

Hard Copy: If you use that old-fashioned "film" stuff, we can scan your photographs. But note that many developers can also provide your pictures pre-scanned on CD. (If you want to send hard-copy photos, send an email and we'll work out the details.)

Links to your pictures: If you have your pictures stored someplace else on the web (such as ofoto or picturetrail, or your own website) we can include a link to them on our pages here. If it is a picture hosting service, please verify that we can link to it. Some services require that you become a member before you can see the pix, etc. Try to make the link as easy as possible.

Helpful Hints

When you send your photos, please keep the following tips in mind:

• In your email, include a brief description of what the pictures are. This should include the following Ws:
  • Who you are: your name and your Delphi screen name. Help us out here -- many times your return email address doesn't look anything like your real name or your Delphi name. Also, any aliases you might use (from FBI wanted posters, etc).
  • Who is in the picture: Especially if there are other MTFers in the shot.
  • What is in the picture: What are we looking at?
  • Where: Where was the picture taken?
  • When: The date you took the picture. The time of day if you want. The period of your life, etc.
  • Why: You don't have to say "because I love motorcycles;" we know that! but if there's something special about the picture let us know.
    
    
• Indicate which section of the website in which you'd like to have your pix.
  • Sig pictures are typically one or two pictures you'd like to link to in your Delphi sig.( Note that we may resize your sig pic so that it fits easily on Delphi.)
  • Ride pictures are shots from MTF group events.
  • Members photos are pictures you'd like to share from your own adventures.
    
    
• Try to group your pictures together in one email. Instead of sending one picture in each email, include them all together. If you have a bazillion pictures, archive them together using a utility like WinZip.
  
  
• If possible, name your pictures before you send them. A lot of digital cameras name their pictures something like "dcx5297003.jpg" and it can be hard to keep track of them. (We try to be organized, we really do!) A simple name like "bobjonesdealsgap-01.jpg" would be fine.
