Greetings Riders,
The Poker Run From Hell is celebrating the 4th year as a movable week long celebration of Motorcycling. We've logged miles in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee and around the Great Lakes including Canada. This year we explore the roads in and around Pennsylvania.
The Poker Run from Hell's main focus is the Poker Run. Like many a poker run, each leg ends with the drawing of a card for a poker hand. The difference is that each leg is1,000 miles a day. This provides the long distance enthusiast the opportunity to achieve a certificate for either a SS1000, SS2000, SS3000 or SS5000. In addition, this year we are offering an in-state PA1000.
For the more relaxed rider, or Flower Sniffin' as we call it, Pennsylvania has a multitude of locations that offer scenic rides to pique the interest. Within a days roundtrip you can visit the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, Amish Country, the HD Plant in York, or the Flight 93 Memorial site. There will be brochures with suggested scenic roads and locations available along with the links on our website to tempt you into Sniffin' all day.

INAPPROPRIATE?
By Don Kime (SAFTNUT)
Every once in awhile we hear of a m/c accident where it's clear that things were pretty much totally out of the control of the motorcyclist. We were just victims of the alignment of the heavens. It was just not our day. The most recent reminder of this is DragRacerBob's becoming a grill ornament for an inappropriately driven Chryler New Yorker.
However, one of the motivations that keep me going in m/c safety activities is the belief that in the vast majority of instances, there was some action, inappropriate on our part, that, had it been appropriate, could have prevented or mitigated the incident. I'm not getting into accident fault when I say this. We all know that in the vast majority of multiple vehicle m/c accidents, we are the aggrieved party. I think our mission is not to establish fault, but to keep incidents from occurring, even and often when we would not have been at fault. Being "dead right," imo is not our mission.

Miles Tracker
By Jason Jonas (nankoweap)
When I took a few years off from “the grind” and really started riding again I needed a way to get familiar with the technology I had left behind. I thought of various web-centric programs I could write to help me and my friends with motorcycle-related whatnot. The intent being to make the programs available free of charge, free of advertisement and with full faith in securing everyone's personal data. Over the next year or so I spent a bit of time developing three different programs.
The first program is the MTF Tourer's Assistant. The TA maintains a secure database of contact information of people all over North America who are willing to help motorcyclists. The TA has evolved over the years and now includes the MTF Virtual Library which allows members to share books, videos and just about anything else you can imagine. And while I maintain the software, it has been donated to the MTF. Since 2003 the TA has 634 active users in 57 different states and provinces.
