Why a Newsletter?
By John Wynes (XGMan)
The MTF is much more than sharing experiences and expectations on-line with others
interested in recreational riding. Have you been pretty much limited to riding with a couple of buddies on the occasional summer weekend and looking for more from motorcycling? Are you curious about how to participate in a rally? Do you want to extend your riding season but are in the dark about proper apparel and equipment? How about a weekend getaway to break bread with new friends? Perhaps you are ready to give Iron Butt riding a try? Maybe you've been looking for that "perfect" GPS or lighting system. Would you like to explore roads and attractions in an unfamiliar region of the country?
Our appeal is to serious sport-touring folks, social riders, off-road adventurers, as well as
hard-core long distance types. Regardless of the bike you choose to ride, there is a
wealth of technical and practical information available on the forum. You'll also find
invitations to lunch rides and opportunities to participate in events where lasting
friendships are formed.
While some of us have enough time to keep up with the forum posts and all that is
offered, many more have a lot of other pressing demands on our time. New or infrequent
forum visitors may not yet be familiar with everything going on in the MTF.
The Board believes a newsletter, summarizing upcoming activities and including a few
in-depth articles on selected topics, could be of value to our time-strapped forum visitors.
Let us know what you think of the idea. Are we wasting our time or is this something you would print out or bookmark to read and refer to at your leisure? What types of articles or subjects would you like to see in future issues? How frequently should we publish the newsletter? Would you prefer to receive it by email or have a link posted on the forum?
We hope you enjoy the inaugural edition of the MTF Newsletter.

The MTF Virtual Library
What is it….The MTF Virtual Library is a collection of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and like items members share with each other. Anyone can participate, only stipulation is you must be a validated MTF Tourer’s Assistant.
The Library System will let you request an item, add new items, view waiting lists, add your name to a waiting list, search for items and more. We hope our members will share their books, magzines, DVDs etc instead of let them sit on the shelf collecting dust.
To access the library, sign in to the MTF Tourer’s Assistant.system at:
http://jasonjonas.com/mtfta and click on “Library” in the upper right corner. If you'd like to read one of the selections, just add your name to the waiting list and it will be shipped to the first person on the list. When they are done with it, it will be shipped to the next on the list.
If you have items you would like to donate, sign in to the TA system, go to the libary and use the “Add Item To Library” button. Then ship it to the first person to request it.
